Hermanus Association of Transport and Tourism (HATT) prides itself on ONLY having as its Members, persons and companies that are amazing ambassadors for our country and region, while also (and much more importantly) are LEGAL operators. Each of HATT's members can ONLY become a Member of HATT after ALL their paperwork, exams and insurances are checked and are totally up-to-date and correct.

Service is everything in the service industry, but it is also of paramount importance to have highly trained, insured and enthusiastic staff; totally Road-Worthy and insured vehicles and that Tour Guides have all their qualifications in order to conduct tours in the subjects that they do tours in. What use is it to do a Wine Tour if your Tour Guide knows nothing about Wine? Or a Whale Watching Tour if they know nothing about Whales....etc....for a full list of what legalities are required under South African law to operate as a Tour Guide, Tourism Transport or Tour Operator in South Africa - then please check out - SA Tourism Laws

There are 3 seperate Tourism services covered by HATT -  
1) Tour Guides - conduct walking tours of an area or subject that they have passed exams in - NOT allowed to transport tourists
2) Transfers and Transport - have vehicles for transportation but are NOT allowed to do Tours
3) Tour Operators - who are licensed, trained and insured to do both Tours and Transport
